Winning the Cancer Battle

Cancer. The big C. The simple utterance of each of the word's syllables causes overwhelming feelings of sadness and hopelessness. It is even more heart-wrenching to witness a young adult grapple with the effects of this terrible illness. In 2010, while studying at the University of the West Indies, I was shocked to see one of my high school batch mates with horrible red blotches on her skin. She had also lost a lot of weight, but still had that memorable smile that warms everyone's hearts. We started chatting and I inquired about the blotches. At that point she thought it was just bad eczema. Little did she know that she was beginning to show signs of a rare form of cancer called Hodgkin's lymphoma. Samantha is one of the warmest, friendliest, and most generous persons you will ever meet.

There is nothing negative that can be said about Samantha. She has touched many lives and been an inspiration to many. Her battle with cancer over the past 5 years has been a challenging one. Countless hospital visits, numerous medications, and numerous radiation treatments have worn her body.

Samantha needs our help to get a life-altering treatment in the United States. The treatment costs 3000 USD. We have established a GoFundMe campaign to raise the funds needed for her to get this treatment. Any support you can give would be greatly appreciated. Make a donation and spread the word. The link for the campaign is gofund.me/z6w9dt3g. Help us help her win this fight.
